Marty Roth (born December 15, 1958 in Toronto) is a Canadian race car driver in the Indy Racing League. He is one of the few true owner-drivers left in open wheel auto racing, as he owns his Indycar team, Roth Racing.

Roth was a successful land developer in the Toronto area before becoming involved in professional motorsports. He made starts in both the 2004 and 2005 Indy 500 races, as well as competing full-time in both of those seasons in the Indy Pro Series after acquiring the IPS assets of Panther Racing in 2003. His best Indy 500 start was 29th in 2005 and his best finish was 24th in 2004.

In April 2006, Roth sold his Pro Series equipment and announced that he would move up to the Indy Racing League IndyCar series full-time, starting with the 2006 Indianapolis 500, however Roth failed to qualify for the 500 after crashing his car in practice late on Bump Day before achieving a qualifying run. He returned to the series at Michigan International Speedway in July and ran two more races at the end of the year. In 2007, he ran the Indy 500 and two previous races.

Marty Roth: An Appreciation
I like the idea of phasing out any type of ride buy by mostly untalented rich guys, but not by burning the bridge. It is my continuing opinion that Indy Racing needs Marty Roth as potentially the next great owner instead of a screwed, ...

Roth makes like a tree and leaves
Without a press conference or official announcement, the Marty Roth error era has officially ended. As the Toronto Star reports, Marty has cleared out his locker, filling up a box with tattered scoring sheets, crumpled Dallara parts, ...

Oct. 10: On Roth, Rubicon and Montreal
Question: With "Party" Marty Roth readying for a fire sale, who do you see as prospect peeps to buy? I could see the equipment being absorbed by some of the transition teams, but I would love to see a new face, or even an old one get in ...

marty roth, pt. ii
however, it was exciting to hear that the irl had (more or less) asked marty roth to not drive next year. i have this terrible feeling that barrett is going to become the marty roth version 2009. i hope i'm wrong.

the correct course of action...?
again, as a driver, i do not fault marty... but it seems that all this time its never been about a love for racing, its been about self-love for marty roth, and in all honesty that's just fine. as a race fan however i will say good ...

Cry Me a River, Roth
It's official, Marty Roth and his team will not be racing in the IRL next year. Roth's story is that he had interest from other men to run and market his team. When these men approached the IRL with their plans, IRL management wanted ...

Jay Howard will gladly take your calls
A lot of folks have taken the time over the past few seasons to, how is it said, “politely asked” Marty Roth to pull over as a driver and devote his resources to being a team owner. In fact, after the season finale at Chicagoland, ...

the battle of roth…
marty roth is running as fast as the majority of the field and finishing races… this isn't the marty roth that we know. most of us place him in last place when it comes to fantasy racing due to the fact he can never go the distance. ...
