Jim Gillette is a singer, formerly of the glam metal band Nitro. In the 1980s, he was a member of the band Tuff. He frequently shattered crystal goblets with the sound of his voice, using audio amplification, as part of his act. He is married to singer Lita Ford. He has a range of over 6 octaves^{[citation needed]}, and on the record "O.F.R.", he was able to hold a C-sharp note (one octave above soprano high C sharp) for 32 seconds.

Jim released a vocal training video and accompanying tape for practicing vocals. This came out in 1993 through Metal Method Productions and is entitled Vocal Power.

Jim now weighs upwards of 260 pounds and trains in mixed martial arts with the Gracie family. He also exercises with clubbells through Scott Sonnon´s Circular Strength Training.
